About the Farm
Welcome to Treasure Hunt Farm Foundation! We are located in Rutland, Massachusetts- the geographic center of Massachusetts. Our farm is a 501(c)(3), private, non-profit farm animal rescue and sanctuary.
Our Beginnings
Lifelong animal lovers, Jefferson and Sarah Williams purchased the farm that now calls itself Treasure Hunt Farm Foundation in 1990. Mrs. Williams drove by a dilapidated farmhouse and barn while on an annual treasure hunt with her outdoor sports group. She went home and convinced her husband to come look at the property. After pouring love and sweat into getting the buildings up to snuff and the addition of many animals, the idea behind THF was born. In order to ensure the continued safety of their beloved animals, Jeff and Sarah expanded the farm into a foundation and sanctuary. Since its founding, Treasure Hunt Farm Foundation has continued to grow and has helped hundreds of animals receive the love they deserve, all thanks to Jeff and Sarah's vision.
What We Do
Treasure Hunt Farm Foundation is a sanctuary for frequently and/or formerly farmed animal species. Animals that arrive at Treasure Hunt Farm Foundation are, at its core, given the same love and respect as everyday household pets. They are not used for food, fiber, or recreation. They are allowed to live our the remainder of their lives knowing love, kindness, and compassion.
